Cutting edges and wear parts · Estonia
Wear parts to your drawing.
Many shops manage up to 500 HBW. Beyond that it comes down to experience and the machine. Cutting edges, wear plates and mounting parts — from Hardox® 400 to Extreme.
Hardness
Where others say no.
Hardness decides the method, the tooling and the price. Put the grade and hardness in your enquiry — that is where our answer starts.
The blank normally comes from close by — we source it through the official Hardox® Wearparts partner in Estonia. Your own blank or your own supplier works just as well.
Hardox® and Strenx® are trademarks of SSAB AB. Ketmas is an independent machining company — we machine parts from these steels, we do not sell plate.
Why us
Many shops manage up to 500 HBW. Beyond that, experience and the machine start to matter.
Hard material does not forgive a loose set-up or a tired tool. The harder the part, the more the result depends on machine rigidity — and on whether someone has done it before.
Part types
A wear part is a repeat order.
Same drawing, same method, same result next time. The second batch does not start from zero.

01
Cutting edges
Bucket, grader, snow plough. Long edges in segments.
-
02
Wear plates and strips
To size, with holes and edge profile.
-
03
Mounting and adapter parts
Between the wear part and the machine.

04
Complete 3D parts
Milled surface and profile, not just a straight cut.
Machines
In hard material the machine matters.
An unstable machine forces weaker cutting data and burns tools faster — that lands straight in the price. A rigid machine and a solid set-up keep hard material predictable.

In practice
Hard steel behaves differently.
Three things we always account for in wear plate.
Threads from 550 up are milled a tap will not survive — we thread mill in two passes
A gas-cut edge is hardened we mill at least 2 mm below the hardened cut layer
Thin plate needs support below 8 mm the plate is backed, or the hole comes out oval

FAQ
Questions before you send the drawing.
If your question is not here, just ask — the answer will be as specific.
Do you build the whole bucket, or weld?
We do not offer welding as a separate service. Welding can be included as agreed additional work within an assembly. Our part is the machining.
How long a part fits?
Long edges are done in segments or with a special set-up. The exact limit depends on the part — send the drawing and you get a specific answer.
Does the blank have to come from me?
No. It usually makes sense to source the blank close by, and we have that channel — through the official Hardox® Wearparts partner in Estonia. If you have your own blank or supplier, that works too.
How hard a material do you go to?
Hardox® 600 (550–640 HBW) is routine work here, and Hardox® Extreme (57–63 HRC) has been through the shop as well. Hardness affects tooling and time, not feasibility.
Can I order it repeatedly?
Yes. A wear part is repeat work — the second batch starts from an approved drawing and a proven method.
